The Economic Calendar is the agenda of the events that move prices: employment data (NFP), inflation (CPI), interest-rate decisions, etc. Each event comes with its impact level (high, medium or low) and the currency or country it affects. Knowing when a high-impact event is coming helps you avoid unexpected volatility.

Check the calendar at the start of your day. If there's a high-impact (red) event in the next hours for the pair you trade, consider reducing size or waiting it out: prices can jump sharply.
